Fans of high-speed accustomed to the fact that the Evolution of the language means to Mitsubishi car with a powerful engine and 4x4 offering excellent handling. But now they will be genuinely surprised after company president Tetsuro Aikava revealed what to expect from the next model with a similar name.
Before Autocar chief Japanese brand confirmed the rumors according to which the next Evolution will not constitute sedan and crossover with hybrid drive. And its merits not only be fast acceleration and high speed but low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Only to do with the previous Evolution will be a system of four-wheel drive. However, it would be very different from that used in Lancer Evolution, as will rely on one or several electric motors.
It is expected that the new Evolution to become part of the family ASX, it will come about when replacing this model with that name - that is, after about 2-3 years. The basis of the new ASX will also be the concept XR-PHEVII (pictured), which showed the Japanese Motor Show in Geneva.
