The model will be a hybrid
Honda continues its strategy for the revival of its legendary sports cars. After NSX back on stage and released as a successor model S660 roadster Beat, now the Japanese manufacturer is considering the return of another cult car - S2000, reported Motoring.

The idea is it also to become a hybrid, as was done with the NSX, as in the base gasoline engine to be located in the middle of the chassis. In this case, Honda will rely on 2.0-liter engine from the Honda Civic Type R, which has 280 hp, but S2000 power will be reduced.
This reduction in power will be offset by two electric motors on the front wheels, while the rear will be responsible for the petrol engine. In this way, the car will get not only a four-wheel drive, but can at times be moved only electricity.
Such type of drive would be substantially different from the familiar S2000, which was located in front aspirated engine and offered only as a roadster. The new model, except that it will be a hybrid, will be available only as a coupe and there will be an open version.
In Honda are convinced that such a machine would be able to compete on the market with models such as the Audi TT and Nissan 370Z. With the release of this Japanese brand model will be the only manufacturer in the world offering 3 sports cars with an average location of the bike in different classes.
